It seems so obvious now. Pizza man was confused. Couldn’t find our street.
Newly equipped with YourGOV eyes, I finally figured out why my cheese and green olive with extra sauce was soggy and late: our street sign is missing. How long have we been living in this chaos?
Time for some woman-on-the-street YourGOV reporting!
The process is simple. Tap the YourGOV app. A map of your location will appear. Tap “+” to add the location and start a report. When your location is determined, you’ll get a window telling you if it’s served by a YourGOV organization. If it is, the information you submit is streamlined to the recipient.
But here’s the cool thing: even if your local government isn’t a YourGOV organization (mine isn’t), you can submit a citizen report and it will be sent to the appropriate agency.
I’ve never been accused of being a techie, but I find this app to be straightforward and simple. Tap “issue” and a scrolling list of options will appear. “Sign Issue” is it today, so I tap it. Add details? I could suggest where I believe the sign went, but I’ll leave that to the local police.
For now, I note the name of the street and that the bird perch atop the stop sign is missing the part that names it. Add photo? Of course! Simple: tap it and take it.
I’ve also opted to “include contact info." You know, just in case someone wants to call to thank me. It could happen.
